Snap! The camera flashes as my legs are shaking. We are about to go ride on The Roller Coaster (that is actually the name of the ride) and I am really nervous. My mom tries to reassure me, “Okay. That’s a good shot. Go ahead.” Then she leaves the line with my younger sister leaving only me with my older sister. We climb up the stairs and see the station, and now I’m really nervous. Unfortunately for me, this ride has a fast loading process, so before I know it, I am pulling the lap bar down and getting ready to scream.
For most of my life, I’ve been afraid of rollercoasters.I don’t know if it’s the speed or the sound, but the drops always make my stomach queasy.Up until now, I had only been on a simple, twenty-foot drop ride and Splash Mountain in Disneyland.And believe me, riding this rollercoaster was not my choice.My mom made me because she told me that if I did it ONCE I wouldn’t have to do it again.
Back to the rollercoaster.The ride begins with a curve around the station. When you reach the end of the curve, you can see a fabulous view below you. Although the view at the top is prettier, I take a good look around because I know my eyes will be closed at the top. The ride then begins the accent up.
Now before I continue, I would like to let you know. I sat at the 2nd to last row, and if you are sitting near where I am, when you are climbing up the lift hill you will not be able to see the top, which for me, was pretty freaky.My sister was smart, and figured out that you could look at the reflection, but I was too scared and didn’t know this.
Soon, I was 200 feet up in the air
and slowly I moved to the drop, then, I was gone.
The ride begins with a 75 foot drop. If you’re scared right now, you will be freaking out on the 150 foot hill—straight down it felt. After that, you go upside down and on the second time, you hang there, suspended. Hanging upside down is one of the reasons I will go on this ride again.
Once you curve around to a set of brakes, the hardest part is over. By this point I was catching my breath and feeling proud of myself. You then do a bunch of tiny hills and get your picture taken. Then you slow down and the 2-minute ride is over.
Overall, the ride isn’t that bad.
You have some fun jumps and bumps that might make you want to ride it again.
The line moves fast and the ride itself is too. I think I had a fun time and
can’t wait to do it again.I guess
my mom was right.

OOO SNAP!!!!!!!!!! evan oh my god that was a good story and i mean good. I love your face in the last picture it was so funny . the roler coster looks so fun to go on. i cant wait to go on it when we are in vegas, it is going to be so fun, and may be scary where you scared??

hey ev dog that was a really good story and I could really get a picture in my mind. I have never been on a roller coaster except for the little kid coasters when I was a kid but I have never been on a roller coaster that big. You had a lot of great details and and explained every thing really well like when you were climbing up to the top and then you went down. Well great story Evan and keep the good work.

Evan, that was a great story. I used to be very scared of rollercoasters, but I rode one and now I love them!

Nice story! It kept me entertained the entire time. There was suspense that wanted me to keep reading. It was also funny, which made it even more fun to read. The pictures are great, and I can't wait to go on the roller coaster now. Great job, and keep it up.

I really like your description of the Roller Coaster. It sounded super freaky. I have always been afraid of roller coasters too, but I hope that I can totally conquer my fear if we go on New York New York. I liked your descriptions of how you felt riding, and I loved the picture of you at the end with your sister. I hope you have stopped being afraid of Roller Coasters.... and I hope I do too!

great post! good decription you must have really done your research on that roller coaster to know how long each drop and climb was. I love the last picture and it is good that you kinda or as i saw it conquered your fear of roller coasters anyways i must say i was impressed and writing about a roller coaster was definatly original. keep it up
